Today the new Vampire developer, Will Hindmarch, officially started up at White Wolf, and he's given me the go for an interview.
You know the drill. Ask any question you like as a comment to this article. Comments are rated 1 by default. Registered users can moderate questions up or down, to a maximum of 5 or a minimum of -1. After leaving the interview process open for about a week (to get all the comments and moderation I can), I'll take the top ten questions and send them on to Will. When he gets the chance, he'll send back his responses to your questions.
Get asking, everyone!

Question: What was the single biggest problem with Vampire: te Masquerade and what can you do to ensure that similar problems do not plague Requium?

This might sound like a 'what do you have planned' question, but that's only part of it... a couple of years from now, if someone asks what sorts of things you've done with Vampire: The Requiem, what would be one thing you'd like to take credit for? ("Well, I'm the developer that came up with this idea...")

What are the style, the atmosphere, the suggestions you want to communicate with Vampire: the Requiem? What are your inspirations? What feeling you want to communicate to your readers?

Hey, I can do this. I'll even 'quote' my question so you know exact wording. ;-)
"While I've not picked up any new WoD yet (as the area I moved to is heavily dominated by d20), I'm curious if you'll be able and plan to avoid some of the things seen by the consumer as ploys to sell more stuff?
For example, cross-referencing other books in the line. Ideally, to a cost conscious gamer, other than core rulebook and setting book (i.e. WoD and Vampire, or even Exalted and Exalted: the Dragon Blooded), any book purchased for a game line should be abile to be used with just that book and the core. For example, while Exalted: the Sidereals was a great book, it referenced other books in the line constantly (some of which are OOP and near impossible to find now), which made some gamers angry that they'd need to buy even more books to get the best use out of this one.
So, in short, how useful will new books for the line be in relation to the core?"

What is your long term vision for the game? Is there any project that you want to see done first and formost?

We know that Justin had a Classic Rome setting planed for the future, are you going to be working on that for the 2006ish season, or has that idea gone out?

Justin Achilli maintained a visible presence on the White Wolf newsgroup alt.games.whitewolf and, later, various online forums dedicated to Vampire, White Wolf, and gaming in general.
Do you plan on having a visible online presence such as his, or do you prefer to work more behind the scenes, as other developers have?

Many people find that when they leave a job, they walk away with something, be it a sense of satisfaction or a new perspective on things. When you finish your stint as head of V:TR (if ever) what do you think will be that 'something' for you?

Considering those who have held the position of Developer over Vampire (Masquerade and Requiem) in the past, in what way do you see your perspective differing, and what do you hope to add?
