Okay, everyone. Will has declared that he has no intention of releasing more information on the bloodlines covered under the clan writeups in Vampire: The Requiem, leaving those for individual groups to develop.

So my challenge to you is to do a full writeup for each bloodline, in the same style as the bloodlines found in the back of Vampire. This thread will remain for discussion of the project or related topics.
For each bloodline, start a new thread. If someone else has a different take on that same bloodline, we'll vote on the best.

If a bloodline gets a unique Discipline, you don't have to describe it... we'll cover that in due time, once all the best bloodlines have been declared. Extra marks if you include a symbol for your bloodline along the same lines as the ones we've seen.

The final results (including Disciplines) will go into a mini ebook tentatively called "Bloodlines 0," a precursor to the upcoming Bloodlines 1: The Hidden. Assuming we do each bloodline, we'll have roughly a two-page spread for sixteen different bloodlines, as well as a host of new unique Disciplines. If you're really good, I'll take the ebook and hold a public vote on everyone's favorite. The winner will receive a copy of Bloodlines: The Hidden.

The options are:
Daeva: Duchagne (an aristocratic but degenerate bloodline that seems to have the ability to directly manipulate the senses and sensations of others), Xiao (another Eastern bloodline?)
Gangrel: Anavashra (mysterious ritualists who claim domains in India and Bangladesh), Anubi (Egyptian cultists who have fueded long with the Lancea Sanctum), Matasuntha (a bloodline of warriors descended from an ancient warlord of the Huns), Taifa (sociable and sophisticated, these Middle-Eastern Gangrel are known for their political savvy and social aptitude)
Mekhet: Agonistes (Mediterranean historians and philosophers who seek to record and retain the knowledge Kindred lose over time and in torpor), Mnemosyne (fervent vampires who possess the ability to share memories and experiences through blood ties), Norvegi (an inbred, degenerate cult of spies and thieves), Sangiovanni (Venetian necromancers who maintain a tight family structure that Embraces exclusively from its own mortal stock)
Nosferatu: Acteius, Baddacelli, Noctuku (violent cannibals who dwell near rural areas and who prefer to feed on other Kindred), Yagnatia (a Russian family that claims unbroken lineage from both ancient nobility and witches)
Ventrue: Most Ventrue "bloodlines" are simply lineages that they happen to hold pride in. The big exception is the Malkovians, of course. Let's at least make the lineages interesting and unique. Licinii, Beni Murrahim, Rötgrafen

Looking forward to seeing what everyone has up their sleeves!

Actually... the Gangrel, Mekhet and Nosferatu each have four bloodlines listed, the Ventrue have three, and the Daeva only have two.

So I'm going to open this up a little further. I'm making room for two additional Daeva bloodlines of your own devising as well as a Ventrue lineage. This'll give us a round 20 bloodlines in the end, four for each.

Go crazy, and good luck!

There was. "A Cassian Ventrue, for instance, does not differ greatly from other Lords." So I went with the others mentioned.

Folco, feel free to repost this over there.

I created a sort of Bloodline off of the Ventrue for my chronicle. They're called the "Tzimici" (zim-EE-chee) and hail from Eastern Europe. I'll be the first to say they're a loud wink back to the old days of the Tzimisce. Anyways, here are their vitals:

Disicplines: Animalism, Dominate, Protean, and Resilience. (I was going to give them something Vicissitude-like, but decided it would just be simpler to give'em Protean...)

Weakness: In addition to the Ventrue procilvity for madness, the Tzimichi have a hard time resting on soil that hasn't recently tasted blood. (having come from the war-torn East, theyt've all grown rather used to the "simple" pleasure of sleeping in/on blood-soaked soil). A single blood-point's worth of vitae spilled on the ground will allow one Tzimichi to sleep there for one day (two points means that either two can sleep over that spot or one can sleep there for two days, et c.). Exception: The soil of Eastern Europe has seen such extremes o human cruelty that any Tzimichi can sleep more or less anywhere she can find a patch of bare soil, provided that there's either some kind of bloody conflict happening nearby at the time, of had happened within, say a month. prior.
Should human blood be in short supply and the Tzimichi is unwilling to part with some of her own, animal blood will suffice for a time. However, Tzimichi who make a habit of sleeping in soil fed by the blood of Beasts find their sleep somewhat troubled and their veins take on an odd reddish tone that darkens the longer they "lie down with the beasts." The lines fade as the Tzimichi again manages to find proper bedding again.

In addition to a special niche a member of this bloodline will fulfill in my game, I also liked the idea of counter-balancing the insane blood-efficiency of a Ordo Dracul Ventrue with a fairly simple mechanic that portrays such horrific decadence and hedonism. Something about a family of Lords who cannot sleep properly unless blood is needlessly spilled about them...

Damn, its a bitch trying to get in here. But now I'm here to cause mischief.

Pardon my ignorance, but aren't we all supposed to submit each Bloodline as a separate forum thread with commentary underneath?

Also, is the early release date of Bloodlines: the Hidden making your prize redundant? Which would be a complete bastard thing to happen. I was looking forward to seeing what came out of it.

If the competition is scrap, would you still put an e-book.PDF together. That would still be fantastic.

Curious but hopeful.

Cheers,

Chris.

Nah, I don't care when the book's coming out. The winner will still get a copy of Bloodlines, and I'm still going to be releasing an ebook. (:

Fantastic. I'm glad to know that.

Well, I posted my Sangiovannis up. There could be another one, maybe two Bloodlines to follow.

Now where are everyone elses?

Cheers,

Chris.

When's the deadline by the way for this?

Also, do you want the sections like "background, haven, covenant, character creation," etc or is the story + disciplines list + weakness enough ?

No deadline. When I have at least one good entry for all 20 bloodlines, then the competition is over. Until then, it will remain open.

I'd like the full writeup for a bloodline as seen in the section of V:TR which features Bruja, Burakumin, Malkovians, Morbus, and Toreador. Everything that's in there should be in your bloodline writeup.

I would have thought there would be more up by now. I had taken a few days to do a little research for mine, and then post it, and tried to pick a bloodline most wouldn't have thought to do. I am glad I picked one that wasn't already done. Smile

As an aside, why are all the posts centered?

Centered? They don't appear to be centered to me.

Yes, yes they are.

Browser inconsistencies or something?

Cheers,

Chris.
